Get alerts when a PC goes offline or someone connects
E-mail and SMS alerts when one of your PCs is offline for too long, is back online, or someone connects to it.
Remotless can e-mail or text you when one of your company's PCs goes offline, when it comes back, and when someone connects to it. You notice a problem before your customer calls you.
What you can be alerted about
- A PC is offline for longer than you choose: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours or 1 day. You get one alert, not one every minute.
- The PC is back online: sent automatically after an offline alert.
- Someone connects to the PC: who it was (their name and company, or "not a Remotless account"), what kind of session, and when. Useful for servers and other sensitive computers.
Turn on alerts for a PC
- Open your dashboard.
- Under Remotless PCs, click Alerts next to the PC.
- Choose after how long an offline PC should be reported, and tick Tell us when someone connects to this PC if you want that too.
- Enter where alerts should go (see below) and click Save.
The button shows a tick when alerts are on. Only the company owner and admins can change alerts.
Who gets the alerts
Alert contacts are shared by all your company's PCs:
- E-mail: up to 5 addresses.
- SMS: up to 3 phone numbers, with the country code, for example +357 99 123456.
Each company can send 100 SMS a month. The Alerts window shows how many you have used. E-mail alerts are unlimited.
Good to know
- A PC counts as offline when Remotless on it has not checked in for the time you chose. It can be switched off, asleep, without internet, or Remotless may have been closed.
- After maintenance on our servers, every PC gets its full time again before it can count as offline, so you do not get false alarms.
- To wake a PC that is asleep, see Wake a sleeping PC from anywhere.
- To stop alerts, open Alerts and choose Never (off), or untick the session option.
