Send session reports to the people you help

E-mail the person you helped a record of the session: who connected, when, how long and which files were copied. Automatic or on request.

After a remote session, Remotless can e-mail a short report to the person you helped. It shows who connected, when, for how long, what kind of session it was, and which files were copied to or from their computer. It builds trust, and it protects you if anyone later asks "who was on my PC?".

What the report contains

  • Company: your company name, marked "verified by Remotless" once we have checked it.
  • Technician: the name and Remotless ID of the person who connected.
  • Computer: the computer's name and ID.
  • Start, end and duration of the session.
  • Type: remote control, file transfer, terminal and so on.
  • Files: how many files were copied to the computer and taken from it, with their names and sizes.
  • A scam warning: who to contact if the session was not expected, and that Remotless never calls people to offer support.

Automatic reports for your PCs

For computers in your company's list, a report can go out by itself after every session, for example to the customer's office manager.

  1. Open your dashboard.
  2. Under Remotless PCs, click Reports next to the PC.
  3. Enter up to 5 e-mail addresses, separated by commas, and press OK.

The button shows a tick when reports are on. To stop them, open Reports again and empty the box. Only the company owner and admins can change this.

Send a report after helping someone

When a technician helps a customer whose computer is not in your list, you can still send them the report.

  1. Open your dashboard and scroll to Recent sessions.
  2. Sessions on customers' computers are marked (customer).
  3. Click E-mail report next to the session and enter the customer's e-mail address.

Every technician in your company can do this for your company's sessions.

Good to know

  • Reports are sent only for sessions that really started (the other person accepted, or the password was correct).
  • Times are shown in UTC, so they are clear in every country.
  • Your e-mail settings must work for reports to be sent. If a report cannot be sent, the dashboard tells you.
